Kathryn Gabig

Often we cannot clearly identify those influences that help create our vision – our “eye”. Finding light being reflected off a feather to form color or the observation of plants sending out vines and tendrils and the turning of a leaf and how that movement informs space and perspective is a source of wonderment for me. I received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia in 1989 but I took my first college art class 1975 taking more classes after that.  I worked in several museums as a technician and was an artifact artist for Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia.   I moved back to Baltimore to attend the Schuler School of Fine Arts where I began a more serious study of oil painting Oil painting is such an ancient form and making paint from the Earth’s own pigment a pure endeavor.  The sculptural nature of oil is very pleasing and offers the artist a sense of being able to manipulate space through the medium. The combined history and the technical skill of the instructors at Schuler are the underpinnings of my ongoing discoveries.

Amanda Garner

Lincoln native Amanda Garner grew up spending time with her Grandma Opal Lucille Jewell Garner who was always busy making pretty things: quilts, crochet, needlepoint, tatting...While Lucille didn't make jewelry, she did have a love for it and often gave her grand daughter Mandy  pretty things from her jewelry box. Lucille developed a deep love for all things pretty in her grand daughter. Along the way she taught Mandy how to crochet which is the only formal teaching in the art of crochet Amanda ever received - at the age of 10!
Jewelry making was a self taught endeavor beginning in junior high and high school, mostly because any adventure into sewing meant a lot of critique from other women in the Garner clan! It took on a more polished look within the last ten years as Amanda began using precious stones, sterling silver and gold. Her designs end up being very colorful and completely one of a kind. She has never met a gemstone she doesn't like but is partial to Opals.

Ashley Lammers

Thanks so much for stopping to take a look! I have been making bags for several years and I love to come up with new styles and use new fabric; there are so many beautiful prints out there!!

Carrie Masters

I have been self employed since 1996, and a professional working artist since 2004. I started my photography business, C. Masters Photo, in the summer of 2004. I experimented with photography as a youth, and learned the art of black and white film processing, from there I moved on to medium format and later digital photography. The next incarnation came with my discovery of photo manipulation programs, and the use of this medium to expand the uses of my photography. My current passion and business, “Robot Luv,” was born from this revelation.

Jim Miklavcic

Jim Miklavcic was born and raised in Illinois where he spent most of his time in the woods. Yearly trips to Wisconsin and Minnesota enhanced his knowledge and love for wildlife and nature.   He doesn't remember when the dream of becoming a wildlife artist started; it was always there. Likewise there's no memories of learning to draw; he just always has. " It just came natural to me. The bulk of an artist's training has to come from the heart. The desire to learn more seems to be an obsession and a never ending process. Over the years Jim worked in design and architecture.  He started to pursue his art in earnest in 1985 from his home in Florida and now works out of his studio in Nebraska. "I realized my art was more than a hobby to me, it was deep inside and the pull was too great to ignore."  He also realized a new importance wildlife artists share because of problems facing wildlife and habitat. " The forest, along with it's wildlife, is our heritage."

Jim now devotes full time to his art, teaching and studies of Nature, her wildlife, and our heritage.
